Fra duk til klesplagg

Har du en nydelig duk som er ødelagt av misfarging, talg, eller hullete av slitasje? Da kan deler av duken leve videre i et plagg.

Første gangen jeg så redesign av duker var under sesong 3, i episode 3 av Symesterskapet på NRK.

Oppdaget serien for et knapt år siden, og ble sterkt inspirert til å sy klær selv. Her vises teknikker på detaljplan, i en munter og energisk innpakning. En av redesignoppgavene var å sy om duker til en sommertopp. Noen av plaggene ble fantastisk vakre! Ingrid Vik Lysne, en av deltagerne, tok ideen videre og laget en hel kolleksjon av broderte duker. Full av inntrykk ville jeg forsøke å sy om min egen elskede og ødelagte duk til en topp. Duken var for liten til et helt plagg, så jeg ofret et gammelt pyntelaken til å supplere med.

Etter å ha strøket dukene klippet jeg bort det som var ødelagt. Deretter la jeg mønsterdelene utover i mest mulig grad med trådretningen. Ville balansere broderiene diagonalt, og hadde dette i bakhodet under plassering av mønster for ermer, rygg og front. Denne prosessen var gøy! Komposisjon er halve moroa når jeg skaper et nytt plagg.

Mønsteret er så enkelt at denne «t-skjorte-toppen» syr man på cirka to timer. Et riktig så fornøyelig morgenprosjekt før dagen gripes i sin helhet. Duken lever videre og er stadig med på gode opplevelser.

Under siste ferie på GranCa fikk jeg kjøpe en stor brodert bok med misfarging til en billig penge. Så med én gang at det skulle bli en skjorte! Igjen, sterkt inspirert av Ingrid V. L. Hun er et unikum av idéer og nytenkning. For å få mønster og visuell balanse til å fungere brukte jeg mer av det gamle pyntelakenet. Koste meg stort under konstruering av skjorten! Brukte ett av basismønstrene fra «Stoff & Stil»

Tror jeg ble mest fornøyd med ryggen og nakken. I tillegg er kraven en søt detalj over strikkegensere. Jeg har ofte en stor rød genser over.

Dette er morsomme redesignprosjekt, som både er miljøvennlige og økonomisk snille. Heldigvis har jeg en god del igjen av den største duken, og jeg kan allerede se for meg nye prosjekt med søte broderte detaljer. Kanskje barnekjole blir det neste omsømprosjektet?
